Buona sera. Come si chiama? Come stai? Sto bene! Dov’e il bagno? Grazie. Prego. You will learn these and other fundamentals of Italian in this beginner’s course. Learning a second language requires: learning simple “pronunciation” rules; building a “word” vocabulary; learning, practicing and using everyday “phrases”; turning phrases into simple “sentences”; then sentences into “conversation” in that order! Enjoy a balance of listening, speaking, reading and grammar needed to successfully communicate in Italian. You will listen to Italian music to reinforce learning, diction, cadence, and culture. You will need to practice and self-study a minimum of three hours per week (half hour per day) to maximize your learning. You will need to bring a three-ring binder for hand-outs. Textbook information is provided on our website and in your confirmation email. 10 Tuesdays • 6 - 8pm • Sept. 18 - Nov. 20 • $199 LA11-F18 Instructor: Bob Alessio Italian Beyond the Basics Continue to improve your reading and conversational Italian with “just enough” grammar. Conversation topics will include travel, culture, cuisine, and music of Italy. You will need to bring a three-ring binder for hand-outs.
