Tai-ji has been shown to improve balance, enhance general health and physical fitness, as well as promote physical and mental relaxation. This traditional routine, know as the  “24-forms”, is a low impact, moderately aerobic, therapeutic exercise appropriate for all ages and every activity level. Tai-ji complements any fitness, rehabilitation, weight- loss or stress reduction program. Instructor: William Heinold Therapeutic Taiji/Qigong 10 Saturdays, 8 - 9am, Sept. 24 - Dec. 10 • $75 (No class Oct. 15, Nov. 26) FT22-F16 Therapeutic Taiji/Qigong is a set of taiji routines designed by Dr. Paul Lam of Sydney, Australia for sufferers of osteoporosis, back pain, diabetes or arthritis. The routines are short, simple combinations of movements from the Sun and Yang Styles of Taijiquan, emphasizing QiGong. The exercises promote the prevention and control of these conditions and fit gently into other exercise recovery programs.  They are also appropriate for patients recovering from stroke, injury or joint operations.  Even advanced players of traditional taiji forms enjoy the smooth, gently, flowing sequence of this modern set.
