B6185 - Rollerblading: Sunday Morning Workshop

Try out our rollerblades (or bring your own) and discover why in-line skating is such a fast growing sport. If you can ice skate or rollerskate then you'll be a natural on rollerblades. With rollerblading there is no pounding of the joints associated with sports like jogging, aerobics and court sports. There are plenty of local bike trails, quiet country roads or empty parking areas available to practice the sport . In Cambridge rollerbladers swarm over Memorial Drive when it is shut down on Sundays. Get a tan and watch the fishing boats as you cruise the Cape Cod Canal bike trail, or take a short drive down to the well maintained Providence bike trail and skate over twenty miles along the scenic coast of Rhode Island. Learn how to stop, turn and take long graceful strides. Course will be taught in parking area of school.

1 day/2 hours

IMPORTANT: We have several skates in each size from 5 to 12 so you'll need to state your shoe size when registering. Bring your own helmet. We'll provide knee, wrist and elbow pads. If you are borrowing our skates you'll need to leave a license and credit card until you return the skates at the end of the lesson.

Donny Resendes is an accomplished inline skater who has been ice skating for the last 20 years and started rollerblading about six years ago. He also played hockey for UMass Amherst.
