A6188 - Hands-On Sailing Lessons
The sun low on the horizon, warm wind caresssing your face , sparkling shards of refracted light shimmering on the water, hand firm on the rudder, the sail billow full, your 2000 league grin tells the excitement of your first solo sail. You dream of someday sailing the Caribbean, think of Spanish Galleon loaded with treasure from the New World. This seven week course will bring you into the fold of old salts and daydreamers. You'll get a combination of on the water and classroom instruction. After the third class, you may use the boats at any time during the course for practice or recreation. Classroom theory trains you in rigging, knots, sailing theory , and boating safety. Progress at your own pace and get a good start towards a Helmsman rating. Course is held at beautiful Quinsigamond State Park under the auspices of Regatta Point Community Sailing. You need to be a capable swimmer and should wear rubber soled sneakers or athletic shoes.
