8858 Introduction to Adobe Photoshop for the P.C. Most of the special effects you see in print ads, TV commercials, music videos, and the movies are created with Adobe Photoshop or software like it. Imagine taking a photograph or illustration and with a few clicks of a mouse dramatically changing image placement and color. Imagine merging two entirely different themed pictures into one convincing image. Photos can be manipulated so easily today that you have to view them with a certain degree of cynicism. With Adobe Photoshop you can change the colors in a photograph or illustration, create montages, apply artistic effects, clone objects and people, change hues and focus, create or remove shadows and much, much, more. Some of the concepts that will be covered in this course include: selecting and transforming parts of an image, color corrections to digital photos, digital "painting," creating artwork, and working with Layers and Masks. We will also cover: image resolution, different kinds of file formats (TIFF, EPS JPEG GIF, etc.) and their applications, using digital cameras and scanners with Photoshop. Whether you're a photographer, desktop publisher, art director, animator, graphic designer, or a curious and imaginative mind, you'll find the capabilities of Adobe Photoshop totally amazing and its potential unlimited. 6 weeks/18 hours Rick Shagoury, B.F.A., is an Illustrator and Web Designer and an accomplished Adobe Photoshop user. Thursdays, March 9 — April 13 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM Course Fee $225 (Additional fee for text) |
