Topics covered include Massachusetts insurance policy, insurance related terms, and arbitration; Massachusetts General Laws concerning the appraisal and repair and standard for repair of damaged motor vehicles; registered repair shops referral program; industry terms, depreciation, sheet metal repair, suspension, and frames; inspection and identification of damaged automobiles, appraising concepts, and instruction using a recognized crash manual; salvage title laws; and licensing requirements, application for state exam, and Massachusetts laws associated with the Auto Damage Appraiser Licensing Board. Upon completing this course, you will receive a certificate approved by the Auto Damage Appraiser Licensing Board.  In addition to this course, you will need to complete a three-month apprenticeship with a licensed Massachusetts auto damage appraiser in order to qualify to take the Massachusetts Auto Damage Appraiser Exam. Instructor: Sue Conena Auto Damage Appraiser Apprenticeship 11 Thursdays, 6 - 9pm, Nov. 10 - Feb. 2, 2017 • $499 (No class Nov. 24, Jan. 26) CRA02-F16 Continue with your Auto Damage Appraiser training once you have received your certificate from a Board-approved Auto Damage Appraiser Course.You must provide a copy of their certificate to register for this class.  This second class will fulfill the three- month apprenticeship requirement needed before taking the Massachusetts Auto Damage Appraiser Exam. You will complete your apprenticeship through classroom lecture and hands-on work with vehicles provided by Assabet’s Auto Collision Tech Shop. You will use crash manuals to practice writing appraisals on the forms used to take the MA exam. The curriculum will include reviewing and discussing damage on different vehicles; a detailed explanation of how to use crash manuals; practice writing appraisals correctly using procedure pages; and studying and reviewing insurance company and auto body procedures.
